Roman triumphal arches PART 1

Constantine archTriumphal arches were erected in honour of important person or to commemorate a significant event such as victories. They have symbolic role, so that every relief depict allegory of victory. Exclusive right for triumphal entrance was allowed only for some specific person, namely emperor. Triumph of an emperor means glory entrance in the city, mostly riding a horse.

Technique

There is so many painting techniques, and they are very important.

Despite graphics and drawing sketches where the line is basic expression, paintings express themselves through paint, and off course through balance between lines and paint.

To produce painting technique is most important. Technique is an action applied while making painting.

It is the way for creating art depending of methods and assets. In wider sense by the name of  ‘’technique’’ it can be considered a way of making art in specific period style or epoch, while in another it means one specific way to create art.

Tempera

faiyum portraitTempera:  Tempera was the most used technique.  It  is type of painting medium used to bind pigments. Etymology for tempera is from latin word temperare “to mix colors, temper, or regulate”.   Tempera, also known as egg tempera, is a permanent fast drying painting medium consisting of colored  pigment mixed with a water-soluble binder medium (usually a glutinous material such as egg yolk or some other size).
